Welcome to Missouri City's GIS Home Page!

On September 1997 the Missouri City Public Works Department implemented the first GIS (Geographic Information System) program in Fort Bend County, Texas. Since its inception, our GIS program has been an innovative pioneer for small city municipalities. We have been distinguished as leaders in the GIS industry by such national organizations as URISA, GITA, ESRI, and the APWA. We have presented our GIS program to local, national, and international organizations. Our goal is to continue to be an innovative leader in small city GIS by providing the city staff and Missouri City Citizens access to spatial (and non-spatial) data that will enhance the timeliness and accuracy of decision-making.
